How Does Negative Thinking Affect You?
If you are a single guy it can be easy to fall into the trap of negative thinking and negative self-talk if you are unhappy.
This is especially true if you have been single and looking for a while and keep getting turned down or rejected by women. It’s hard to be positive when you are being rejected!
But negative thinking doesn’t have to rule your life. You can change negative thinking into more positive thoughts simply by interpreting situations differently and talking to yourself differently.
Once you start to interpret things differently your thoughts, feelings, and even actions will start to be less negative and more positive. And of course this positive tone will just increase the more you do it!
For instance, if you are telling yourself that no woman will ever want you then that kind of negative self-talk is creating your negative thinking about yourself and most likely affecting your skills with women in a negative way as well.
But the negativity doesn’t stop there! It can leak into other areas of your life. You may start to feel like a loser around people in general. You may start to feel bad about yourself when you are around women and avoid approaching them completely because of fear.
The good news is if you change your self-talk from ‘no woman will ever want me’ to ‘there is a woman out there for me, I just haven’t found her yet’ then you will start to feel differently (in a positive way) about yourself and you will act differently around women and other people.
It’s all about the wording!
Telling yourself you can’t succeed with women and telling yourself you just haven’t succeeded yet are two very different things. One makes you feel bad. One makes you feel good. One stops you from taking action towards finding a woman. One allows you to continue on your journey.
Negative thinking doesn’t just limit itself to one thought. There’s no constraints around your thoughts. This means that if you feel like you are a failure with women then you will start to think other negative things about yourself as well.
Create doubt in yourself in one area and it will leak to other areas of your life.
How To Control Negative Thinking
The very first step is to recognize negative thinking! If you don’t recognize it as just a thought you are having, then it becomes more than a thought – it become part of who you are.
Once you know that you are thinking negatively (and it is just a thought that you are having) you can separate it from your persona and realize that it’s not you – it’s just something you are thinking!
This is the problem with negative thinking! We start to feel as though the things we tell ourselves is true because we think about them so often! But of course they are just thoughts.
If you told yourself that you were a monkey every single day does that actually make you a monkey? No! So why do you think telling yourself that you are a loser everyday would make you a loser? It’s just a thought that keeps popping up in your head.
The next step to control negative thinking is to change that thought to something more positive that makes you feel better.
Like I said above, if you tell yourself ‘I will never get a woman’ replace that with ‘I haven’t found the woman of my dreams yet.’ And do it every time you have that negative thought! Every single time you catch yourself in the process of negative thinking replace that thought quickly with a positive affirmation. The positive affirmation should make you feel better, not worse. So if you don’t feel good then find a new one that works.
The next step is to take action on yourself in areas you want to improve. Everything you learn in life makes you more confident and aware, and this always leads to less negative thinking and more happiness.
So if you feel that you are not good at approaching women, and you’ve taken the first few steps and stopped beating yourself up about it with negative thinking, then now you can find out HOW to approach women to ensure less rejection.
Once you learn how, you can start practicing it on women, and you will find that your confidence and success rate will improve with every positive thoughts and positive action you take. You can’t go backwards here!
So remember, negative thinking is just that – it’s a negative thought that you have the power to change. As long as you are aware of that fact, you will continue to become more positive and successful in life.
