Right now I’m sitting in a coffee shop working. Not only am I working but I’m also people watching – which, let’s face it, is sometimes better than working.
Anwase, 5 firefighters (all male) just came in a sat in the next booth beside me. They are all in the 30′s and up. One guy is probably in his 50′s.
There is also a younger guy in here (about 18).
The firefighters are typical males in a group talking about nothing to serious and being comfortable with the dynamics of it all. So comfortable in fact that the older man put his hands down his pants and scratched his ass in front me. (As a side note: don’t do that in front of any woman as it’s not appealing at all).
Anywase a young, fit, attractive girl walked in. Probably about 18 years old or so. The group of men beside me who had been so engaged in talking about nothing and scratching their asses suddenly became very quiet and stared at this girl like they had never seen a girl before.
As a woman, I know that she was aware of them staring, but she didn’t give them any sign that she was aware. Why? Because they were being needy and pathetic looking!
The younger guy however didn’t stare her down when she came in but gave her a glance and then continued to read his paper. She did give him a few glances while she was here getting her coffee. Her glances conveyed a look of interest or attraction.
You may think that she glanced at him because he was closer to her age, but that’s not true. The men beside me weren’t ancient and they were actually quite good looking. But there was something about the younger guy that made her look at him as opposed to the men who were obviously attracted to her.
Let me tell you that what I said above about women is true of all women!
Women know who is checking them out and who is not. They are acutely aware of what is going on without actually giving it away. Always.
The guy who wasn’t staring her down was her object of focus for that reason. He was more interesting and attractive to her because his interest in her was not laying itself out on the floor for all to see. He did give her a quick glance which showed SOME interest, but he didn’t overkill it and because of that he became attractive to her.
So think about the firefighters next time you see a girl you like. Give her a look of interest but don’t give her a look of desperation or willingness to jump her bones right then and there.
Even if you are with a group of guys take the more subtle route. This will separate you from the rest of the pack and ensure you have more of a chance of catching her interest.
